12 Logos which inspire me : Philip Clarke (Pic)

Both these designs work well, the gradients may not translate well into B&W, but they are both striking and distinctive. The top logo I think has a classical or corporate look, however the blue symbol within the design almost resembles a musical note on a score sheet. The bottom logo reminds me of the Celtic swirl or curl which is almost always used within Celtic knot work. It also resembles a "C" or "O", Ceol Oirghialla.

I think the top logo is very effective. It resembles a stage or theatre front, a perfect visual identity and representation for this organisation, "Arts & Culture". This is a perfect example of the type of visual, message we must attempt to design, one which captures all of our clients essence and identity.
In the logo below again we see the Celtic swirl, which here also has an organic look, plant buds included. This type of design can be decorative and elegant, however here it has been successfully used and visually contrasted alongside a pale modern sans-serif typeface, and anchored by the striking red "X".

The Design above creates an established feeling with the viewer. The vertical shapes, as well as representing and resembling piano keys, also resemble columns or pillars all holding up a modern roof or stroke across the top. I think this logo is very successful, symbolising who the organization are and what also what they do.
The logo below is simple and effective, the decoration around the "T" looks similar to the symmetrical patterns seen within Celtic knot work, both sides exactly the same. This single letter logo would also work very well on its own.

Both these designs clearly have a more modern visual effect, however they are effective and look extremely well. Wave Alchemy has a logo which resembles a sound wave or audio samples visual on a digital meter or equalizer. Below "M" is made up of strings, the letter representing the word music and the strings an instrument. However both these representations may not be as effective without their typeface to accompany them.

I really like both these designs; they are both sharp and modern. They are made up of simple geometric shapes, arranged in a distinctive and interesting way. I think that both designs work extremely well on their own and they both also resemble electronic components or elements. This could be the modern twist needed alongside some Celtic knot work to create a unique logo for our client.

Although these are both very modern designs, I think they look extremely well. If the "O" and "C" above were swapped around, "Ceol Oirghialla". Simply just two circles with lines between, maybe this layout could be developed further.
Below the message is obvious and the text and design function as one. Again very simple yet very effective.
